Dr Gerald Little
I graduated as a Dentist from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 2000. I initially worked at Logan Hospital with Qld Health, and then in several private Practises in Brisbane, before moving to Toowoomba where I have practised full time for the past twelve years.
I strongly believe that to be a good clinician, it is essential to stay up to date with all aspects of the Dental Profession. To ensure currency in my clinical skills, I regularly attend Continuing Professional Development courses each year in Brisbane and interstate. As part of this commitment to continuing education I have been a member of the ADA Queensland Professional Development Committee for the past six years, and was Convenor in 2017. I have been a member of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry for the past 12 years.
Prior to my life as a Dentist, I completed a Science Degree, and a Doctorate of Philosophy, studying marine mammals. The field work for my Ph.D. involved spending 14 months at Sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island with the 35th Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition.
After completing my Doctorate, I moved to Newcastle, and was a Lecturer in Anatomy in the Faculty of Medicine for seven years. During that time I was also involved in scientific research and have several publications in the field of Neurobiology.
Other than being a Dentist, a job I confess that I really love, I am blessed to have a great friend in my wife Rosemary of 31 years, and to have two beautiful children, Dan and Julia. I am still an avid surfer, and enjoy my early morning surf on my short board. My other passion is music, playing guitar in a garage band and having fun making musical noise. Desperately trying to be the rock star playing guitar and to go on tour!
